Hot Girl Supper Club - Wine Dinner at Shaw
Hot Girl Supper Club - Wine Dinner at Shaw
Join us at Grand Cata on Wednesday, July 16th at 6 PM for a one-of-a-kind evening featuring Latin American–inspired dishes made with seasonal, local ingredients — all paired with curated wines.
Hot Girl Supper Club (HGSC) is a communal dining experience that began in 2021, bringing food lovers together to share a 5-course, family-style meal, make new connections, and celebrate themselves and each other. We’re thrilled to host this special collaboration, and everyone is welcome!
Menu below:
1st course: Chilled Corn Soup
Wine: Portugal Boutique Winery "Gorro". 100% Loureiro. Vinho Verde, Portugal. Well balanced acidity, with some notes of lemon zest, pears, and some mineral notes due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.
2nd course: Watermelon Tostada
Wine: Catena "Rosé de la Provincia". Blend: Syrah, Garnacha, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc. Mendoza, Argentina. Made of early harvest red grapes, this crisp rosé offers enough complexity to accompany your summer dishes. Tart cherry and watermelon with a mineral finish.
3rd course: Peach, cucumber, and ricotta salad with fresh herbs, chili crisp, and fried shallots.
Wine: Wapisa 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Rio Negro, Patagonia, Argentina. Wapisa in the local indigenous language means "whale", which are very common in coastal Patagonia, where this wine comes from. Notes of zesty grapefruit, white flowers and ginger.
4th course: Roast pork sandwich with spiced cherry butter and herb salad on a baguette.
Wine: Laura Hartwig, Single Vineyard Carmenere. Colchagua Valley, Chile. After 10 years in Canada, Laura Hartwig and her husband returned to Chile to produce wines in the land she had inherited from her family. To this day, it remains a family business. Notes of vibrant red fruit, well balanced with a long finish of black pepper and vanilla.
Dessert: Pavlova with sweet corn cream and blueberries OR (if the humidity is too much for the pavlovas) polenta cake with blueberries and sweet corn cream
Wine: Santa Julia Brut Rose. 100% Pinot Noir. Mendoza, Argentina. "Julia" is the daughter of Jose Zuccardi, a household name in Mendoza. He calls her "Santa Julia", hence the name of her project: Bodega Santa Julia. Charmat Method, fruity, with notes of strawberry and sweet raspberry.
