Soon, the bottles will pop and the music will play, because a monumental anniversary is just around the corner: Grand Cata is turning 10!It feels like just yesterday we were turning the key on our flagship store in Shaw in 2016, with covered windows, half-empty shelves, and a dream bigger than our tiny storefront. We were setting out to create the nation's capital's first Latin Wine Market, dedicated to showcasing the rich history of over 450 years of winemaking across Latin America. It was a leap of faith, but the moment that first Sauvignon Blanc and Albariño were poured, we knew we were exactly where we needed to be.The journey since has been a testament to passion and perseverance.

In 2020, we took another leap, opening our beautiful wine bar and market at Cosecha. It was the right decision for Grand Cata’s vision, but it landed right in the middle of one of the most difficult times in modern history. The global pandemic tested the limits of every small business, yet we adapted, we served, and we persisted.Then, in 2023, we proudly expanded beyond the District, opening our first store and wine bar outside of DC in the Mosaic District. Each new location, each new bar, and each new bottle added to our inventory is a piece of that original dream coming true.We are truly happy for everything we have achieved, and we look forward to the decade ahead.

But here is the deepest truth: we could not have made it without the support and love of our customers and Catadores (tasters).You are the reason for our resilience. You are the community that fills our spaces with laughter and stories. You ask for the perfect wine for life’s biggest moments—the joys, the challenges, the simple weeknights—and you remind us every day that wine is more than just a drink; it is a ritual of sharing, of culture, and of family.Thank you for helping us write this history.
