We don’t make this point enough: we absolutely love DC. Our co-founders became best friends here after working together for a non-profit. The city, and Shaw specifically, has shown us more love than we can compute. There’s a reason we managed to fit “DC” into our logo!

In this spirit, we feel there’s no reason to leave the city for Labor Day! Here are 3 ways that we suggest you spend yours that will put you on the path to appreciating the rest of your DC summer!

A Picnic on the Mall

We get it. It’s easy to take the Mall for granted. But it really is a special gift you only get in DC. So grab a basket, fill it with cured meats, cheeses, crackers, fruits, you name it, and head down to the Mall. We got everything you need in the shop! When you get there, lay out a towel and set up with some of your favorite people while catching the views and enjoying the weather!

A BBQ Cookout in Rock Creek Park

Let New York have Central Park! Rock Creek has it all: amazing greenery, fun but not strenuous hiking trails, and picnic groves throughout. Now, you can’t bring alcohol to the park, but you can bring a grill - or use one of theirs - and bring home some leftovers. Pair those with some Pipeño either later that night or throughout the week!

Note: You’ll need a reservation for these spaces, which you can book here.

A Rooftop Party

You’d be hard-pressed to find a city where celebrating in gorgeous rooftop spaces is more baked into how to spend beautiful summer nights. Though we believe rosé season lasts all year, a glass of something pink while laughing with friends and listening to the songs of the summer pretty much exemplifies #GrandCataLife
